Full tuition fee waiver plus financial assistance for living costs

The Sanctuary Scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver for the length of the course and financial assistance for living costs. This means the full cost of the tuition fees is covered. Leeds Trinity offers a limited number of Sanctuary Scholarships per academic year to help people seeking asylum and students from a forced migrant background to access Higher Education. These scholarships were originally set up in partnership with the Helena Kennedy Foundation through their Article 26 project.

Up to 50% tuition fee discount

A tuition fee discount for students who have previously studied an undergraduate degree at Leeds Trinity University and are now progressing to a postgraduate course.

Grant of between £3,362.50 and £6,083.50 per year

A bursary for students studying MA Social Work. The bursary is paid in termly instalments and can be used towards tuition fees and living costs. Students in receipt of this bursary receive a grant that reduces or eliminates their tuition fee liability.

£6,429 per year for a 2-year full-time course

A government loan available to postgraduate students to help cover tuition fees and living costs. Students not in receipt of a Social Work Bursary can apply for this loan.

One lump sum payment (amount not specified)

A one-off payment to help cover travel costs for placements. It is either included within the first payment of the non-means-tested grant or paid as a lump sum if the student is not allocated a bursary place.
